What exactly is hemp seed oil?

Hemp oil, also known as hemp seed oil, is obtained from the seeds of the hemp plant through cold pressing and is one of the most balanced and rich sources of essential oils, containing all essential amino acids and essential unsaturated fatty acids. It contains countless valuable nutrients, including a substance from the cannabinoid group.

Omega-3 fatty acids are a special group within the polyunsaturated fatty acids. They are essential fatty acids and are therefore vital for our body. Our body cannot produce essential fatty acids itself and must therefore obtain them through our diet.

Hemp oil contains Omega-3 and Omega-6 as well as unsaturated fatty acids in the ideal ratio of 1:3.

The oil also contains omega-3 fatty acids DHA (docosahexaenoic acid). DHA contributes to the maintenance of normal brain function, vision and normal heart function.

Hemp seed oil is an excellent plant-based alternative to fish oil, which often has a high mercury content.
