What exactly is HYALURONIC ACID?

Hyaluronic acid is a polysaccharide that occurs almost everywhere in the human body. It is found in large quantities primarily in the skin, in the bones and intervertebral discs, in the synovial fluid and in the vitreous humor of the eye. Due to its spatial structure, hyaluronic acid can bind water and thus contribute to the stability and friction-free mechanics of the joints. In the skin area, hyaluronic acid ensures the natural elasticity and firmness of the connective tissue. From around the age of 40, the body produces less and less hyaluronic acid, although the loss can be artificially replaced with hyaluronic acid capsules.
