What is OMEGA 3 actually?

Omega-3 fatty acids are a special group within the polyunsaturated fatty acids. They are essential fatty acids and are therefore vital for our body. Our body cannot produce essential fatty acids itself and must therefore obtain them through our diet.

The bioavailability of the omega-3 fatty acids EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid) and DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) depends on how they are administered to the body. The triglyceride form is much better absorbed by the human body (higher bioavailability) and therefore offers clear advantages over the cheap ethyl ester form, which is often sold. Omega-3 fatty acids in TG form are a high-quality dietary supplement - which are also more resistant to oxidation.

The most biologically active forms of omega-3 fatty acids are EPA (eicopentaenoic acid) and DHA (docosahexaenoic acid).
